Jinjuu’s Soju cocktails provide the perfect tipple for a scorching summer

Jinjuu has long been a favourite with discerning Londoners who harbour a soft spot for authentic yet modern Korean street-food.

Founded by Judy Joo, the successful brand now has restaurants in Soho and Mayfair, and is particularly renowned for its excellent version of Korean Fried Chicken, served as a whole baby poussin. Other numerous highlights include prawn 'lollipops', Ssam sharing platters laced with succulent Braised Short Ribs on crunchy lettuce leaves, and a selection of sushi rolls and dim sum. Guests also really shouldn't leave without sampling a decadent dessert and we particularly enjoyed the Snickers Hotteok - a sinfully crispy, flat Korean doughnut filled with salted caramel, peanut parfait, chocolate ganache and praline. Lighter options are available so don't worry if you need to watch your waistline! We can also vouch for the palate-cleansing Bingsu shaved ice, naturally flavoured with mango and topped with coconut sorbet, passion fruit, grilled rum pineapple and lychee.

The innovative cocktail menu tops things off with a range of Soju-based drinks created by mixologist Kristian Breivik. There's all the drama of the traditional vodka-style cocktail here, coupled with Breivik's clean, low-calorie finish. He uses the popular premium Korean Soju brand, Hwayo, to breathe life into 700 year-old vodka recipes. Often diluted when mass-produced, Hwayo Soju undergoes a fermentation and distillation process that ensures a pure and fragrant finish. Breivik makes use of different Hwayo products to create modern ideas like Soju Sour (Soju, ginseng spirit, honey, lavender and fresh yuja juice), Spiced Kimchi Mary (a mix of black pepper and celery-infused Soju with a bespoke kimchi spice mix and fresh tomato juice), X.P Plum Snap (Single rice whisky, Hwayo soju, Korean plum wine, ginger & lemon) and Double Truffle (White truffle infused Soju, yuja sake, clove & smoked sea salt).

Thanks to their distinctively pure flavour, Soju cocktails can actually be drunk while eating, preferably al fresco.Lovely for the summer. (Autumn, winter and spring while we're at it.)

Jinjuu Mayfair is open daily from lunch through to dinner (12PM – 11PM). The bar at Jinjuu is open daily from 12 noon and remains open until 10pm. (Thursday-Sunday). For bookings, please contact your Lifestyle Manager.
