The Sophisticated Innovators: 111SKIN

We get the insider scoop on the story and formulas behind cult skincare line, 111SKIN.

Words by Keven Amfo

Named after the prestigious Harley Street address that houses the practice, 111SKIN is the professional skincare line from renowned plastic surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides and his wife, Eva. An early advocate for the use of non-invasive procedures, Dr Yannis, has long understood the efficacy of prevention. Initially used in clinic only, Eva recognised the products' potency and power, eventually bringing them to the retail market.

Now consisting of more than 50 products, each packaged sustainably – and with a portion of every sale benefiting charity – the successful line is available worldwide. Below, they give Quintessentially the lowdown on the line.

What is 111SKIN best known for?

We create advanced formulas for targeted solutions. Whether you seek to treat, repair or perhaps clear your skin, we have formulated the most effective products delivered luxuriously and beautifully.

Does the line have a hero product, that you cannot live without?

The very first product we created, Y Theorem Repair Serum. Originally formulated to treat trauma post-surgery, it heals the skin daily and protects it against the invisible damage of daily aggressors, such as pollution, stress, and lifestyle choices. It creates perfect skin equilibrium and creates visible rejuvenation in the complexion.

What do you recommend to freshen and brighten the skin within the changing seasons?

As we transition into winter and the cooler months, it's good to switch from summer's lighter textures to heavier creams – for example, from the Celestial Black Diamond Emulsion to the Celestial Black Diamond Cream. Adding different boosters to night cream can really help, as can the Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask. It imparts a visible radiance when used a few times each week.

How has the pandemic affected 111SKIN?

Like many people, 2020 has led us to reflect on our values as a brand and address our social purpose. Charitable giving has always been integrated into our brand, but this year has helped us understand the real power of a kind gesture in a more significant way. We donated to the NHS healthcare workers this year, as a gesture of appreciation for all the incredible work they've done – this is part of our ethos. Beauty really can be a gift that keeps on giving.

What is in the pipeline for next year?

Next for us is now. We'll continue giving people the gift of confidence through beauty.
