Unlike some of the smaller, lesser-known Greek islands, Mykonos needs no introduction. It’s an island that never goes out of fashion. And with two major luxury hotel openings last month, 2026 is shaping up to be its best year yet. Whether you're after a private sandy beach (rarer than you'd think), a bohemian adults-only bolthole, or a cliffside villa with a pool that spills into the Aegean, here are the seven best luxury hotels in Mykonos to bookmark for this summer and beyond.

Four Seasons Mykonos

Best for: staying at the island’s hottest new opening.

Picture this: a cliffside village tumbling down to a private cove, where plunge pools look like they spill straight into the Aegean. We are, of course, talking about the new Four Seasons, which only opened its doors in June 2026. We especially love the focus on getting under the skin of the island here: yacht trips to secret kitesurf spots, days exploring Chora's labyrinth of boutiques and galleries, and excursions to Delos to channel your inner archaeologist. In true Four Seasons style, everything here is personalised to you, while always maintaining a sense of place.

Fouquet's Mykonos

Best for: celebrating big in a luxury private villa.

Another luxury hotel that opened on the island last month? We’re being spoilt. You’ll find Fouquet's Mykonos in a secluded spot between Paraga and Paradise Beach – two of the island’s most iconic bays. For milestone celebrations, the Delos Villa (one of three exceptional villas) is the accommodation to book. Sleeping up to 14 across two levels, it comes with a private pool, dedicated butler and concierge services, plus VIP access to ROKA Beach Club. But for something more low-key and intimate, any of the 60 Cycladic-inspired suites are sure to hit the spot.

Cali Mykonos

Best for: balancing hedonism and headspace.

Mykonos has two modes, and Cali has packaged both into one very clever offering. This season's new Party & Peace concept means boat transfers to the south coast's most celebrated beach clubs, signature sunset cocktails at Apollo Bar, and private concierge for your social planning sit comfortably alongside spa rituals, beach yoga, and red-light therapy. The setting helps, of course. Expect 40 cliff-carved villas at Kalafati Beach – one of the island's most unspoiled corners – each with a private pool and sea views over a 110-metre infinity pool.

Santa Marina

Best for: access to one of the island’s rare private sandy beaches.

Santa Marina's private stretch of soft white sand on Ornos Bay is a genuine rarity in Mykonos. Add the fact that it's naturally sheltered from the island’s notorious winds, and you've got the most civilised swimming on the island. The beach club – complete with a jetty that juts straight out to sea – is where you'll want to spend most of your time, watching mega yachts drift past from a pod-shaped cabana. If you like your luxury self-contained, book one of the 12 private villas, each with its own pool, kitchen, and butler.

Kalesma Mykonos

Best for: experiencing the quieter side of Mykonos.

You’d never guess that Kalesma lives on Mykonos. It has all the slow, secluded feeling of a much less-explored Greek island, with all the benefit of being close to the action if you desire it. Its name translates as “invitation”, and its ethos invites you to reconnect with the version of the island where overcrowded beach clubs and tourist traps are a distant memory. We particularly love the sundowners around the fire pit, olive trees sprouting from new stone floors, art of weaving workshops, and outdoor infinity pool filled with seawater here.

Myconian Deos

Best for: proximity to Chora (Mykonos Town).

Deos is awesome in the most literal sense of the word. Its name translates to ‘awe’, and its hilltop spot overlooking Mykonos Town delivers on this promise. When you want to be part of the action, you’re a white-washed stone’s throw away from the island’s iconic windmills. But the hotel’s suites complete with hot tubs and infinity pools or complimentary shuttles to its private beach club on Agrari are there when you want to up the exclusivity. Scuba diving, helicopter rides, yacht trips, and more are also available at your request.

Amyth

Best for: an adults-only retreat.

Amyth is a bohemian bolthole with just 17 rooms and a natural aesthetic that feels refreshingly raw. It’s adults-only, but the crowd leans younger here. When they’re not cooling off in the pool, you’ll spot them sipping sundowners (our pick’s the signature Amyth: lemon gin, prosecco, watermelon, sorbet) while keeping score over their latest chess match. Top tip: if you want to spend a perfect day in Tinos, this hotel perfectly positions you to hop across to the tiny island on the ferry from Agios Stefanos.
