There’s no better way to greet an incoming year than on a relaxing, sunny holiday — here are our tips of where to go.

If you're anything like us, you must be looking out the window at a dark, grey sky and dreaming of welcoming 2022 under the sun. Whilst it is somewhat late in the game, there are still some options across the globe if you wish to travel during the holiday season. Act quickly, though — rooms are available, but they're going fast!

Four Seasons Seychelles | Six Senses Zil Pasyon

Seychelles

This Indian Ocean archipelago is one of our favourite places to visit. Glamorous and breathtakingly beautiful, it's the perfect place to forget the happenings of the past year. Four Seasons Seychelles occupies their own private island, Desroches, which features nine miles of incredible beaches and rustic-luxe decor that blends in perfectly with the surroundings. Their New Years' programme includes a rock concert, champagne and caviar, and a recovery brunch.

Fregate Island

Or, Six Senses Zil Pasyon, the only resort on Félicité, is ideally situated to accommodate some island hopping; Fregate Island is a secluded destination that marries ultimate luxury with considered conservation efforts to honour the Seychelles wildlife.

Mauritius

Known for its beaches and lagoons, this Indian Ocean Island is about 12 hours from London — but a world away. One&Only Le Saint Géran will host a New Year's Eve gala dinner, followed by a champagne breakfast the following morning. The celebrity favourite is known for crystal clear water and white sand beaches: this destination is for nature lovers.

Shangri-La Le Touessrok

The Four Seasons on the island's east coast hosts a private garden and pool at each room, and New Years' will feature a stunning fireworks display. Shangri-La Le Touessrok has a beautiful onsite Decléor spa so that you can welcome 2022 fully refreshed.

Dubai

Dubai is relatively close, a go-to destination for Brits that ensures sun and warm temperatures with its desert location. Four Seasons at Jumeirah Beach will host several New Year's Eve events, including two gala dinners. The unique location of this resort primes for optimal viewing of Dubai's firework celebration at midnight. Nearby, Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah brings its signature sophisticated luxury to the area. Offering eight dining destinations, this elevated resort is a refined interpretation of what Dubai is all about.

Raffles The Palm has just opened: embodying the opulence Dubai is known for, the beachfront resort hosts seven distinct dining destinations. It will offer three different New Years' parties of varying levels of formality.

Mexico

Located along the Riviera Maya, Rosewood Mayakoba is our pick for a group getaway — this luxury destination offers several villas to accommodate families and friends. An active weekly events calendar encourages cultural exploration; also, the food is excellent!

Just down the coast, Tulum's premier property, Hotel Esencia, offers an elevated take on the area's signature boho sensibility. Located on a private beach, New Year here will blend relaxation and rejuvenation with a proper party. On the opposite coast, Auberge's Esperanza offers the only private beach in Cabo. Defined by their signature hospitality and immersive events, holiday-time here will delight the whole family. Nightly programming offers something for everyone, and for the big night itself, guests can choose from activities for everyone or hire one of the resort's babysitters for a parents' night out.

Miami

Typically sunny and warm enough for beach hangs throughout the holiday season, Miami is an excellent option for ringing in the New Year. Expectedly glam, there are many parties and celebrations across the city. We love Faena, on Miami Beach, a spirited property with vibrant decor. They plan to host a decadent celebration with dinner followed by dancing and a fireworks display. Also beachside, the Edition features luxurious accommodations amongst beautiful property and a Jean Georges restaurant.

Acqualina

For something a bit more relaxed, award-winning Acqualina in nearby Sunny Isles is a family-friendly property that will accommodate everyone, ensuring festive celebrations to be enjoyed regardless of age. Many activities, delicious dining options and gorgeous beachfront ensure a relaxed and luxurious way to welcome next year.
