Singapore’s nightlife has evolved beyond its best rooftop bars and its best jazz clubs. The Lion city now hosts a constellation of venues that prize craft, storytelling, and immersive sound over spectacle. From an intriguing agave and rice-spirit-focused speakeasy tucked in Duxton to a city rooftop micro-club with a beach club, these eight newcomers signal a shift toward intimate, curated experiences that celebrate local talent, inventive drinks, and ever-surprising entertainment.

Offtrack

Best for: selectors, diggers, and music-led nights.

Offtrack is a shrine to serious listening. Founded by music collectives Darker Than Wax and Ice Cream Sundays, this sonic temple – rotating jazz, soul, and experimental Asian grooves – also has a killer cocktail list. Ranked 23 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025, Offtrack’s hearty Pan-Asian dishes are also a draw, serving up piquant wing bean assam salads, Panang curries, and locally grown snapper. It’s where Singapore’s creative set goes after hours – and where your evening should, without question, end as well.

RASA

Best for: multi-sensory nights that blur club, gallery, and community hub.

Occupying a sprawling split-level space in Republic Plaza, RASA is a unique venue that shape-shifts by the hour. Daytime brunches and vinyl listening sessions bleed into club nights on the Floor, which channels Berlin’s underground, with DJs spinning 90s tunes, funk, reggae, and UK garage. The Hall offers a lounge-like respite, with Southeast Asian-inspired cocktails, like Lapsang Souchong Negronis, and easy yet elevated bites, like gourmet burgers and hot dogs. RASA’s programming is equally playful and globally inspired, with activations including everything from matcha raves to pop-art installations.

Horatio

Best for: rare spirits and immersive storytelling.

New at Resorts World Sentosa, Horatio is theatre disguised as a cocktail bar. Each room, containing hidden chambers and shelves of rare spirits, expands the tale of fictional explorer Horatio Fairchild as he journeys through the world’s spirit capitals. Its debut ‘Trails & Tales’ menu modernises traditional classics, featuring smoky riffs, gula melaka bourbon, and umami-infused Japanese concoctions. Guest shifts and password-only cocktails add intrigue, while bites like wagyu skewers and salmon tacos with caviar reinforce the globetrotting theme.

Cat Bite Club

Best for: agave aficionados and hidden haunts.

Opened by bar veterans Gabriel Lowe and Jesse Vida, Cat Bite Club quickly gained recognition (ranked 44th on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 and winner of the Campari One To Watch Award 2024). The minimalist, moody space is devoted to agave and Asian rice spirits, and cleverly riffs off classic cocktails. Its Rattlesnake cocktail, for example, replaces scotch with Don Julio Blanco tequila or Tokki Gold soju and throat-warming Chinese Moutai. It’s a place where every drink straddles seriousness and playfulness, making it perfect for connoisseurs and enthusiastic novices alike.

The Backdrop

Best for: cocktail craftsmanship reimagined as performance.

The Backdrop is the latest innovation by master bartender Dario Knox – and the epitome of a fun night out. Hidden in Voco Hotel’s shopping arcade, the speakeasy-style bar is decked out like a luscious, decadent cabaret club, with plenty of high-drama gilding and red velvet. It’s the perfect, well, backdrop to Knox’s captivating cocktail preparation, which involves open flames and a Knox-patented secret ‘percolated’ technique drawn from the 1800s. Aspiring mixologists can sign up for masterclasses and tasting events conducted by the man himself.

Dragonfly

Best for: live music in a swanky, social media-friendly lounge setting.

Located in Orchard-adjacent Vibe Hotel in the Mount Elizabeth area, famous cocktail bar Dragonfly recreates the Hong Kong original’s ornate, highly Instagrammable aesthetic with its gilded bar counter, sweeping stain glass designs, and shimmering blue and green mosaic tiles. Enhancing its refined interiors are an array of elevated cocktail classics – think French Martinis and Manhattans – along with an evolving live music programme that spans jazz and blues to DJ nights.

Wildcard

Best for: community vibes, jazz nights, and discovery.

A fun, ever-evolving space in the slightly off-the-beaten-path Havelock area, Wildcard blends the intimacy of a neighbourhood bar with forward-thinking programming. By day, it’s a cosy cafe with excellent coffee. By night, the tempo changes entirely, with a tightly curated menu of easy-to-imbibe cocktails and non-alcoholic options – all perfectly complemented with Chef Ahmir Arshad’s comfort food crowd-pleasers, like oxtail croquettes and prawn sandos. Revolving pop-ups – like jazz nights, experimental sound sessions, and limited-time culinary showcases – mean there’s always something new to discover here.

Dashi GOGO

Best for: immersive nightlife with rooftop pool views.

Perched high above Singapore’s central business district on the 39th floor of CapitaGreen, Dashi GOGO is the island’s hottest party spot, effortlessly blending Tokyo’s neon energy with NYC’s underground grit. Resident and guest DJs spin an eclectic mix of hip-hop, house, and electronic beats in the Blade Runner-esque industrial-chic space, which, unusually, opens onto a rooftop pool framed against the city’s glittering skyline. 3am and 4am closing times mean nights here are younger for longer.
