VIP guests aren’t enticed by any old ticket. They want unmissable, one-of-a-kind invites – like these sports-themed suggestions from Quintessentially Experiences.

We all know the value of securing face-to-face time with your most important clients. And we all also know that getting them to accept your invitation for said face time is often an uphill battle. So, it’s vital that what you’re offering them is so extraordinary that they simply can’t turn it down – which is where we come in.

We’re well-versed in thinking outside the (hospitality) box when it comes to client appreciation, with a whole roster of unmissable, one-of-a-kind ideas up our sleeves. So, we’ve detailed four luxury, sports-themed experiences to wow your most important guests this year – from an icy adventure in Switzerland to a day with a cricketing legend.

Play ice polo in St Moritz

There’s polo, and then there’s the glitzy St Moritz ice polo tournament, which takes place on a frozen lake in Switzerland. Although already an impressive place to take high-value clients, we would – and, indeed, did – raise the stakes even further by organising a ski lesson with a former Olympic ski champion on a private slope, which they arrived at via helicopter after a scenic tour of The Engadin.

A VIP weekend at the F1 Grand Prix

Don’t just get them tickets to the upcoming Silverstone Grand Prix. Organise a pre-race lap of the track, access to the team garage and a dinner with the team principle on the track, a hot lap demonstration with one of the drivers, and tickets to the post-race after-party – like we did for one of our clients. Five-star accommodation comes as a given, of course – as does weekend access to all events.

Weekend access to a golf championship

Whether it’s The Masters or British Open, tee up a schedule of special experiences to complement a weekend of golf. That could be local luxury accommodation, top-tier hospitality, player meet and greets, and post-event access to the course to play a round. Or you could take inspiration from when we organised a golfing tour of Ireland’s finest courses on board the Belmond Grand Hibernian, which included dinners hosted by golfing legends and swing bands playing in the luggage carriage.

A day with a cricketing legend

Rather than just taking your clients to Lord’s or The Oval, we’d organise for them to spend the day with an ex-cricket player, complete with access to the members’ pavilion after the match. Or we could get them into the commentary box – or even transform the box they’re in into their very own commentary box so they could have a go themselves. This would all be paired with luxury accommodation, seamless transfers, and Michelin-starred dinners.
