30 June 2020

Opening this May, The Curtain is a hotel, restaurant and members' club that is set to redefine the Shoreditch scene. Featuring a rooftop restaurant and pool, 24 hour gym and live performance space, the hotly anticipated venue will fully embrace East London's striking art, design and technology culture, whilst encompassing New York's modern industrial fee.

Eclectic in style, each of the 120 guestrooms and suites exude a luxurious, yet quirky aesthetic. Exposed brick walls, hardwood flooring and modern lighting contrasting with custom-designed artwork by British rock 'n' roll photographer, Mick Rock. Food lovers will be delighted to find acclaimed New York chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson will launch his iconic Red Rooster restaurant at the hotel, alongside an all-day taqueria and bar. The menu will celebrate the roots of American cuisine and true Southern soul food, whilst drawing inspiration from Shoreditch's diverse surroundings.

Members and hotel guests have exclusive access to the rooftop at The Curtain, with its all-day restaurant and bar, year-round heated pool and daybeds. Elsewhere, early morning Yoga classes in the hotels ballroom and BOOM Cycle in the 'CBGB inspired' Live Performance space are just a taster of the variety of classes in store for hotel guests and club members.

The Curtain is the realisation of New York hotelier Michael Achenbaum's decade long vision to create a conceptual property in London: "We spent almost 10 years seeking locations throughout London, with the last 7 years specifically focused on the emerging East London area. It's in our DNA to create hotels in neighbourhoods that are not only ahead of the curve but also in areas that are growing. The Curtain is that vision come to life in Europe."
