Stirred Not Shaken

30 June 2020

Ever since Aston Martin's debut in 1913, its supercars have oozed cool sophistication; a quality universally reinforced by being the vehicle of choice for James Bond throughout many of the secret agent's films over the past 50 years.

Now, Aston Martin is one of the most iconic and admired brands in the automotive world. But it's never been keen to rest on its laurels, and over the past three years, we have seen the marque shift from solely producing glamorous, high-end motorcars, to embodying a full set of lifestyle references - including accessories and clothing. This narrative has been underlined with a programme of once-in-a-lifetime driving experiences called Art of Living – which can be tailored as desired. They put the driver right at the heart of the action, on exhilarating roads through remote terrains, and they are without doubt the most thrilling automotive experiences around. Here are two we think will whet your appetite.

Drive the Wilds of Norway with Aston Martin
26th – 30th September 2018

Western Norway undoubtedly boasts some of the most dramatic scenery on Earth. This four-day road trip traverses fjords, waterfalls, heart-stopping bends, mountains and valleys, tracing its way along the Atlantic Ocean Road, the legendary Trollstigen (or Troll's Ladder) and the UNESCO-protected Geirangerfjord. You'll start from your first base at Hotel Angvik Gamle Handelssted, known for its jaw-dropping views of Sunndalsfjorden, and set out onto the Atlantic Ocean Road, putting your Aston Martin to the test along a network of bridges, viaducts and causeways. The road - a feat of engineering in itself - provides plenty of adrenaline-fuelled moments behind the wheel, though you will be shouldered by an Aston Martin expert. Once you've conquered Troll's Ladder, you'll weave your way to the shores of Geirangerfjord, where a cruise ship transports you and your supercar one step closer to the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund, your final destination. The programme is designed to deliver a fully rounded experience of Aston Martin's prowess and engineering excellence - not to mention Norway's staggering landscapes - and is interspersed with a heady mix of helicopter rides, gastronomic dining and cultural insight from local experts.

Drive the Scottish Highlands with Aston Martin
17th – 22nd October 2018

A driving spectacular along North Coast 500, and a great one for fans of Skyfall and Scotland's rugged Highlands, lochs and castles. Hole up at the private members' club at Skibo Castle to rest between drives, and perhaps refresh in the spa or on the golf course. There's plenty of opportunity to get a full appreciation of Scottish culture too, with whisky tastings, clay-pigeon shooting, a falconry display, a private dinner with Skibo's archivist, and even a spot of ceilidh dancing.
