Spend 48 hours uncovering the best of Germany’s fifth-largest city.

Unexpectedly international — half the city’s citizens are from non-German backgrounds — Frankfurt is more than a financial centre. The bustling metropolis pairs beautiful historical buildings and spaces with modern steel and glass buildings, creating a characterful juxtaposition that is seen throughout the city. As the prominence of its financial prowess increases over the coming years, many more will relocate to the city. We urge you to explore, see our guide below; should you wish to make your stay permanent, please contact our experts at Quintessentially Estates.

Villa Kennedy2

Stay

Villa Kennedy is an intimate property, with a verdant interior courtyard and an exquisite spa. The serene rooms and suites are sophisticated and comfortable — a welcome respite after long days spent exploring.

Roomers

Design-oriented Roomers is another option, offering several types of dark, lush rooms and suites. Featuring steel and velvet accents, the sexy property is also home to award-winning Roomers Bar, a bustling destination perfect for a nightcap.

Freitagskueche Restaurant

Eat

Friday evening, visit stylish favourite Freitagsküche for dinner. The bustling dining room plays host to a revolving roster of guest chefs and artists, working together and creating a sort of dinner party vibe. They have a buzzing lunch service as well.

Seven Swans 2

For an elevated vegetarian experience, visit world-renowned Seven Swans. Michelin-starred, and considered amongst the best restaurants across the globe, dinner here is truly exceptional. Expect unique, candlelit dining, in a tiny building next to the river. Booking is a necessity.

Atschel

Travel back to the Frankfurt of yore at Atschel. Established in 1849, the specials at the Biergarten are written on chalkboards, and it has a cosy feel. Try the local Apfelwein, apple wine, a strong and refreshing drink.

Fotografie Forum Frankfurt

Do

Located in the centre of the arts district, Fotografie Forum Frankfurt features a revolving calendar of both historical and contemporary photography shows. The innovative programme is accompanied by lectures and workshops, allowing photography lovers to delve deeply into the oeuvre.

The english theatre

The English Theatre’s programming is all curated in the English language. Featuring poetry as well as traditional theatre, the diverse line-up is worth exploring whilst you’re in town.

Travel just outside the city centre to enter the Imperial Forest. One of the most significant green spaces in all of Europe that is within a major city, the peaceful wooded area is lovely for a morning hike or afternoon cycle.

Cathedral General

Striking and majestic, the Frankfurt Cathedral is almost overwhelming in its intricate beauty. The origins of the gothic structure can be traced to the 7th-century (it has been rebuilt in parts many times since), and later served as the coronation site for the Roman Empire. Free to visit, arrive early to climb the tower for incredible views over the city.
